Notify AIG General Insurance personnel/Agent immediately upon discovering the loss/damage. Please make available preliminary documents/information for opening of claim file: - Insurance Policy/Certificate
- Bill of Lading/Airwaybill
- Estimated loss amount, if any.
- For cargo damage or pilferage claims up to RM3,000.00 survey is not mandatory.
- For those claims above RM3,000.00, AIG General Insurance will decide on appointment of Surveyor.
- As soon as loss or damage is found, take exceptions (remarks) on the delivery record or other documents to file a claim against responsible parties.
- Take photographs of the damaged goods including the internal and external packing material.
1. Claim Bill 2. Original Insurance Policy/Certificate or copy of Monthly Declaration 3. Invoice (if not submitted earlier) 4. Packing List 5. 2nd or 3rd Original Bill of Lading/Airwaybill with terms and conditions on reverse side 6. Photos (when necessary to support evidence of damage) 7. Letters to the Carrier, Port Authority and Forwarding Agent and their replies. Note: Additional documents might be required depending on the type of loss. When cargoes sustain total damage on board during the ocean transportation (e.g. sinking without any possibility of salvage, burnt and such like) Documents needed: In additional to Items 1 to 7 as stated above, we also need the following documents: - Bill of Lading (all the negotiable sets to be submitted)
- Survey Report issued by the Shipping Company, if any.
- Certificate of Total Loss by Shipping Company.
